M80 OVERNIGHT MAINTENANCE – PHASE 1 OF 14 WEEK PROGRAMME

June 4, 2024

  • First phase of 14-week programme begins 9 June 2024

Fifteen nights of roadworks on the M80 between Junctions 4A and 4 are set to begin on Sunday 9 June.

The closure will be used to upgrade and realign safety barriers in the vicinity of Westfield Footbridge. It is the first phase of a 14-week programme of overnight maintenance on the M80 and M73.

For the first two weeks of the works, from Sunday 9 to Thursday 20 June, the M80 southbound hard shoulder, lane 1 and lane 2 will be closed each night from Sunday to Thursday between 20:00 and 06:00, however traffic will still be able to use a single lane of the M80 main carriageway. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights.

For the third week of the works, from Sunday 23 to Thursday 27 June, the southbound carriageway of the M80 will be closed from Junction 5 Auchenhkilns to Junction 4 Westfield (on the M80) and Junction 3 Mollinsburn (on the M73), with a diversion route signposted via the B8048, Westfield Road and Mollins Road.

All dates are subject to change in the event of adverse weather or operational requirements.

Further details of the individual schemes, traffic management and diversion routes in the remaining phases of work on the M80 and M73 will be published on BEAR Scotland’s website www.bearscot.com prior to works commencing.
