August 21, 2024

  • Third phase of summer maintenance programme begins 26 August 2024

Eight weeks of roadworks at various locations on the M80 begins Monday 26 August.

This is the third phase of a summer programme of overnight maintenance on the M80 and M73.

This phase involves structural concrete repairs to the soffit of the bridge decks on three structures, namely Low Wood South, Low Wood North and Low Wood West.  The Low Wood structures are located at Junction 4a of the M80 (see location plan):

These works were originally due to start on 19 August and last for four weeks, however the works will now commence on 26 August and will be ongoing for eight weeks.

Work will take place overnight from 20:00 till 06:00 each night.

Traffic management will consist of the following closures at various stages throughout the works:

  • A series of lane closures northbound and southbound on the M80 at Junction 4a (night-time only)
  • Closure of the Junction 4a Northbound “spur” road.  When the spur road is closed there will be a diversion to Back O’Hill Roundabout and back onto the A8011 (night-time only)
  • Lane closures on the A8011 (continuous day and night)

All dates are subject to change in the event of adverse weather or operational requirements.
