MASONRY REPAIRS ON A83 SOUTH CRALECKAN WALL, NEAR INVERARAY

August 16, 2024

  • Masonry repairs on the South Craleckan retaining wall on the A83, just south of Inveraray, start Monday 19 August for around three weeks

  • Single lane closure with temporary traffic lights in place

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out masonry repairs on the South Craleckan retaining wall on the A83, just south of Inveraray, with works set to get underway on Monday 19 August. These works will improve the structural resilience of this section of the trunk road.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm from Monday 19 August and will last approximately three weeks.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day until the works are completed.

These masonry repairs complete work started earlier in the year which reinforced the existing retaining wall. The temporary measures installed as part of the previous works will also be removed from Leacann Water.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These works will complete repairs on the South Craleckan retaining wall.

“Traffic lights will be in place to protect our workforce and road users until the repairs are completed.

“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project. We encourage the travelling public to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
