Please be advised that resurfacing works on the A87 on the Isle of Skye, which were due to take place this week, have been rescheduled due to poor weather conditions. The works will resume on Monday 28 November.
On Monday 28 November, due to restricted road widths through this section of the A87, the carriageway will be closed to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. The A87 will therefore be closed in both directions on Monday 28 November from 7pm to 6am. During periods of closure, amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm,12pm, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site. Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period.
For three nights from Tuesday 29 November to Thursday 1 December, the carriageway will be closed at Sligachan and South of Ben Lee to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. The A87 will therefore be closed in both directions from Monday 28 November to Thursday 1 December, 7pm to 6am. During periods of closure, amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm,12pm, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site. Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period.
On Friday 2 December from 7pm to 7am, there will be a convoy system with a speed limit of 10mph in place, to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public on the A87 at Ben Lee.
