NIGHT TIME DRAINAGE INVESTIGATION WORKS ON THE A85 IN CRIEFF

August 8, 2024

  • Drainage investigation works planned for one night (Monday 19 August)

  • Temporary traffic lights between 7:30pm and 6am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage investigation works on the A85 between the junctions for Ochil View Gardens and Rectory Road in Crieff on Monday 19 August.

These drainage investigation works will last for one night between the hours of 7:30 pm and 6am.

Due to the nature of the works and to protect both the workforce and road users, it will be necessary to implement temporary traffic lights. It may also be necessary to close the footway at certain times therefore diversions around the works area will be in place for pedestrians to ensure their safety.

Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the condition of the current drainage assets as well as clearing any blockages found within the drainage system. This will hopefully alleviate current levels of flooding on the carriageway and footway, providing a more accessible route for residents and users of the carriageway.”

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can. We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”

“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
