Convoy in place for safety
Road users travelling on the A85 will benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works are set to be carried out south of Dunbeg from Thursday 29 August at 8pm.
The improvements will involve resurfacing 500m of road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road for road users.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am from Wednesday 28 August to the morning of Monday 9 September with no works taking place on Friday or Saturday evenings. To protect workers and keep road users safe, a 10mph convoy with two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank road users for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
