On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be undertaking resurfacing works, on the A830 East of Glenfinnan, for three nights next month.
The improvements will involve resurfacing the road to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road for road users.
The works are programmed for construction from Tuesday 23 July to Sunday 28 July. Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. There will be no works on Friday and Saturday evenings. Traffic management will be removed outwith those hours, however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Unfortunately, due to restricted road widths through this section of the A830, there is no option but to close the carriageway to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public. The A830 will therefore be closed in both directions each night. During periods of closure, amnesties at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site.
Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
