The northbound carriageway of the M9 will be closed between Junctions 8 and 9 from 20:00 until 06:00 on the night of Friday 11 March, to allow a large pothole to be repaired.
The pothole has already been temporarily patched, however a carriageway closure is required to complete a more extensive and longer lasting repair.
Northbound traffic will be diverted via the M876 and the M80 southbound to turn at M80 Junction 7 Haggs, returning northbound via the M80 to M9 Junction 10 Craigforth, adding approximately 14 miles and 14 minutes to affected journeys.
Chris Tracey, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “An overnight carriageway closure is required on the M9 this weekend to allow us to repair a large pothole in the carriageway.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience. We ask them to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey if they need to travel on the M9 this weekend.”
