A section of the A82 through Inverness is set to benefit from surfacing improvements with work set to take place next week.
The improvements will address defects in the road surfacing on the A82 Longman Road at Henderson Road Junction, creating a smoother and safer road surface for road users.
The overnight improvements are programmed to take place on Thursday 26 August between 8pm and 6am.
To ensure the safety of road workers and road users, a 10mph convoy system will be in place whilst works are being undertaken. Road users wishing to access Henderson Road during the surfacing improvements will be diverted via Lotland Place and Harbour Road. The A82 will remain open throughout.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This surfacing project will greatly improve and strengthen this busy section of the A82 Longman Road in Inverness, as well as create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption for motorists as much as possible during the improvements, including carrying out the works overnight across one night however our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project. We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
