OVERNIGHT DRAINAGE WORKS ON M9 NORTHBOUND PRIOR TO JUNCTION 4

June 27, 2024

  • Hard shoulder & lane 1 closure for five nights

  • Works scheduled between 15-20 July

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is conducting drainage improvement works on the M9 northbound prior to junction 4 for a total of five nights.

Works are scheduled to take place from Monday 15 until Saturday 20 July between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 each night.

For the safety of workers and road users, the hard shoulder and lane 1 on a section of the M9 northbound 3 km prior to Junction 4 will be closed for the duration of the works. Lane 2 will remain open for all traffic.

The improvements of the drainage assets of the M9 will help to address future flooding events and environmental changes.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These upgrades to the surface water drainage system will improve safety for road users.

“We’ll do all we can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible and thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.”

Emergency services and other relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.

Live traffic information is available from the Traffic Scotland website www.traffic.gov.scot and on Twitter at @trafficscotland.

All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
