A section of the A90 at Ellon North Roundabout is set to benefit from an improved road surface with work set to get underway on Sunday 19 June from 7.30pm.
The improvements will see the A90 Ellon North Roundabout resurfaced, creating a safer and smoother journey for road users.
The project is scheduled to begin on Sunday 19 June and will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am over two nights, with all works expected to be completed by 6.30am on Tuesday 21 June.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a lane closure with two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours. The A948 and Lintmill Brae will also be closed overnight with signed diversions in place. All traffic management will be removed during the daytime.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans and share information about the project in advance.
Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative, said: “This surfacing project near Ellon has been designed to improve the general condition and safety of this section of the A90 for motorists.
“The traffic management is essential to ensure the safety of both roadworkers and motorists. There may be some delays, but our teams will do all they can to complete the scheme as safely and quickly as possible.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A90. We encourage them to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
