OVERNIGHT PATCHING WORKS AT M9 JUNCTION 7

February 19, 2024

  • Overnight carriageway closure 28 February 2024

The southbound carriageway of the M9 will be closed between the slip roads at Junction 7 from 19:30 until 06:00 on the night of 28 February, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out patching repairs to the road surface.

A signed diversion route for southbound traffic will be in place from the M9 Junction 7 off-slip onto the M876 to turn at Junction 3 Bowtrees and rejoin the M9 southbound via the Junction 7 on-slip. This diversion will add approximately four minutes and 2.8 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These patching works will provide a smoother and safer surface for motorists using this section of the M9.

“A carriageway closure is essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
