OVERNIGHT RESURFACING NEAR BONNYBRIDGE ON THE M876 WESTBOUND

August 6, 2021

  • Overnight road closures between 11-13 August 2021

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 0.95 kilometres of the westbound M876 near Bonnybridge at Junction 1 from Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 August 2021.

For the safety of workers and road users, the westbound M876 will be closed between Junction 8 at the M9 and Junction 8 on the M80 from 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of 11, 12 and 13 August.

During this closure, a signed diversion route will be in place directing westbound traffic via the M9 Junction 9 to the M80 southbound. This diversion will add approximately six minutes and 5.3 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve the road quality and safety for motorists on this section of the M876.

“Road closures are essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
