Updated 4 March 2025: Due to poor weather conditions, resurfacing on the A83 south of Muasdale will not go ahead tonight, Tuesday 4 March. Works will resume on Wednesday 5 March from 7pm. Please see new information below.
On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out resurfacing and road marking improvements on the A83 South of Muasdale.
The resurfacing project will take place from Sunday 2 March, between 7pm and 5am each night with no work being carried out on Friday or Saturday nights. Works will be completed by 5am on Tuesday 11 March, subject to weather conditions.
To facilitate these improvements and ensure the safety of all road users, the A83 will be closed in both directions at the work site between 7pm and 5am.
During periods of closure, amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am and 4am will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted safely through the site under a 10mph convoy.
The road will be open as normal from 5am each day to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.
Access through the work site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
