On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out £328,000 worth of road surface improvements on the A85 at Burnbrae, west of Methven.
The resurfacing project will take place from Sunday 15 September, between 7pm and 5am each day. No work will be carried out on Friday and Saturday nights. Works will be completed by 5am on Thursday 26 September.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and the travelling public, a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. The convoy system will be removed outwith working hours.
The road will be open from 5am each day to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface. Access through the work site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This resurfacing project on the A85 will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“We’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact of the projects by carrying out the work during the night.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these projects. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
