OVERNIGHT RESURFACING WORKS AT M9 JUNCTION 9

April 6, 2021

  • Northbound carriageway closures 15 and 16 April 2021

The northbound carriageway of the M9 will be closed at Junction 9 from 20:30 until 06:00 on the nights of 15 and 16 April. This is to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to renew over 0.7 kilometres of road surface between the northbound slip roads.

During these closures, a diversion route for northbound traffic will be signposted via the Junction 9 off-slip, rejoining the M9 via the Junction 9 on-slip. This diversion will add an estimated 1 minute and 0.1 miles to affected journeys. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, are in place to protect teams and ensure they remain safe on site.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve safety and ride quality for motorists on this section of the M9.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience and encourage them to plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
