BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 0.6 kilometres of the A876 at Higgins Neuk.
To allow the works to be carried out safely, the A876 Higgins Neuk Roundabout will be partially closed with a diversion and temporary traffic lights from 19:30 until 06:00 from Tuesday 28 to Friday 31 March 2023.
On the nights of 28 to 30 March, the A876 Higgins Neuk Roundabout to Kilbagie Roundabout will be closed in both directions with a clearly signed diversion route in place via A876, A985, A977.
On the night of 31 March, the A876 Higgins Neuk Roundabout to A985 Longannet Roundabout will be closed in both directions with a clearly signed diversion route in place via A876, A977, A985. Both diversions will add approximately three minutes and 0.5 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “The surfacing improvements will address areas of deteriorated carriageway over a 0.6km length of carriageway, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.
“Carriageway closures are essential for safety; however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption.
“We will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible and thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
