Sections of the A96 in Aberdeen are to benefit from road marking improvements, with works set to begin on Monday 23 May at 7.30pm.
The improvements will involve teams installing new road markings on the A96 Haudagain Roundabout.
The project is expected to get underway on Monday 23 May and is programmed to take place over two nights between 7.30pm and 6.30am with all works due to be completed by 6.30am on Wednesday 25 May, subject to weather conditions.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, there will be a full road closure of the roundabout with signed local diversions in place. All traffic management will be removed during the day.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the surfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s NorthEast Unit Representative, said: “This road marking project on the A96 at Haudagain Roundabout will greatly improve the quality of the roundabout for road users.
“The project has been planned around the opening of the new road layout to help minimise disruption for road users. We’ve also programmed the works to take place overnight to further limit any possible delays.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A96. We encourage them to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org, twitter at @trafficscotland or via the mobile site my.trafficscotland.org.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
