OVERNIGHT SAFETY IMPROVEMENT WORKS ON THE A830 GLENFINNAN

June 4, 2024

  • Works begin Monday 17 June for five nights

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to carry out safety improvement works on the A830 at Glenfinnan.

The works will improve the drainage system and verges along the road, and will install marker posts along the A830 Trunk Road to deter dangerous parking, providing a safer road for road users.

The works will take place over five nights from Monday 17 to Saturday 22 June between 20:00 and 05:00. Outside of these hours, traffic management will be removed.

Due to restricted road widths through this section of the A830, the carriageway will be closed during the works to ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public.

During periods of closure, amnesties will take place at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm,12pm, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site.  Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These essential verge works will upgrade the existing verges and drainage system at Glenfinnan, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
