OVERNIGHT SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED FOR A82 NORTH OF LUSS

May 10, 2022

Works begin Sunday 15 May for three nights

A section of the A82 located near north Luss Junction is to benefit from an improved road surface with work set to get underway from Sunday 15 May.

The improvements will see just over 700 metres of the A82 resurfaced, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists.

The works are scheduled to begin on Sunday 15 May and are expected to take three nights to complete. Works will take place between 7pm and 7am each night, with all works expected to be complete by 7am Wednesday 18 May, subject to weather conditions.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours; however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West, said: “This surfacing project north of Luss will greatly improve the quality and safety of this section of the A82 for road users.

“The traffic management proposed, involving the use of a convoy system, is essential to the safety of roadworkers and motorists. We’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact of the project by carrying out the required work overnight.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
