A section of the A85 near Ardchyle is to benefit from an improved road surface with work set to get underway from Tuesday 15 February.
The improvements will see almost 650 metres of the A85 resurfaced, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists.
The works are scheduled to begin on Tuesday 15 February and are expected to take approximately eight nights to complete. Works will take place from 8pm until 6am each night, excluding Friday and Saturday nights, with all works expected to be completed by 6am on Tuesday 1 March, subject to weather conditions.
To ensure the safety for roadworkers as well as motorists, traffic management including a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours, but a temporary 30mph speed limit will remain in place as road users will be travelling on a temporary surface.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West, said: “This surfacing project near Ardchyle will greatly improve the quality and safety of this section of the A85 for road users.
“The traffic management proposed is essential to the safety of roadworkers and motorists given the geometry of the carriageway at this location. We’ve taken steps to limit the overall impact of the project, keeping the A85 open during works periods using a convoy system and by undertaking all operations overnight.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
