As part of a large residential development in the Robroyston area, the housing developer is set to install a new pedestrian footbridge which will span across the M80, linking both sides of the residential project.
The installation of the footbridge is programmed to take place on Saturday 25 June and Sunday 26 June between 8pm and 6am each night.
To allow the work to be carried out safely, the contractor undertaking the bridge installation, Beaver Bridges, will require to close the M80 in both directions between Junction 2 Robroyston and Junction 3 Hornshill over the two nights. Northbound traffic will be diverted via the B765, Royston Road, Cumbernauld Road and A806. Southbound traffic will be diverted via the A806, Cumbernauld Road, Royston Road and B765. The project is expected to be completed by 6am on Monday 27 June.
The M80 will be reopened at the earliest opportunity following completion of the works, with no restrictions to traffic outwith the overnight working hours.
Real-time journey planning information can be obtained by visiting www.trafficscotland.org or twitter @trafficscotland.
The works are being carried out by Beaver Bridges on behalf of Park Lane Developments.
