The slip road exiting the northbound M80 at Junction 9 will be closed between 22:00 and 05:00 on the night of Monday 23 September, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to complete some adjustments to the temporary link that has been in place since subsidence closed the permanent slip road earlier this summer.
During this closure, a diversion route will be signposted to M9 Junction 10 Craigforth, from where traffic will be directed to return south to exit via the southbound off-slip at M80 Junction 9 Pirnhall, adding an estimated 10 miles and 12 minutes to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works at M80 Junction 9 will allow us to carry out some adjustments to the temporary slip road’s drainage and safety barrier.
“It is essential for safety that we close the slip road during these works, however we’ve scheduled them overnight to minimise any disruption.
“Stirling Services will be open as normal throughout the night.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
