Pedestrians and motorists using the A85 trunk road through Lochearnhead are to benefit from improved paths, with £110,000 worth of improvement work set to start this month.
The work, which will begin on Monday 10 October and continue for eight weeks, will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each week day, pausing at the weekends.
The project will see upgrades to the existing path – including resurfacing and kerb realignment – and a new path being built.
To keep roadworkers and road users safe during the project, temporary traffic lights will be in place continuously throughout the duration of the project. A temporary path will be in place to allow pedestrians to pass through the site safely.
Consultation has been undertaken with local residents, businesses, the local authority and emergency services to make them aware of the works and the traffic management arrangements that will be in place.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These essential improvement works will create new and upgrade the existing paths, greatly improving the quality and safety for pedestrians and road users.
“The traffic management arrangements are necessary due to the location of the works. However, our teams will do all they can to keep any disruption to a minimum.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
