BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out scour repairs to Allt Coire Chailein culvert on the A82 north of Tyndrum from Monday 2 September. The works involve filling holes caused by high river flow with concrete and providing new fencing. This will conclude the works started last year, when flood debris was removed from the river.
Works are set to get underway on Monday 2 September. These works will result in improved resilience of the culvert supporting this section of the A82 trunk road network.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm from Monday 2 September and will continue for approximately five weeks.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day until the work is complete. The adjacent lay-by will also be partially closed while works are ongoing.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These works will complete scour repairs to this culvert and provide a safe, resilient crossing.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project. We encourage the travelling public to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
