Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland set to resurface approximately 115 metres of the A68 in Pathhead over four nights, commencing on Monday 21 November.
To ensure the safety of workers and road users, the A68 will be closed in both directions between the junction of A68 & B6458 and the junction of A68 & Ormiston Road, from 19:30 until 06:30 on the nights of 21, 22, 23 and 24 November.
During these hours, traffic on the various approaches to the A68 through Pathhead will be signposted to divert via the A7 and B6458, between Sheriffhall Roundabout on the A720 and the A68 near Fala Dam.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders including local authorities and Police Scotland in advance of these works.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We’re pleased to be able to deliver these improvements on the A68 in Pathhead on behalf of Transport Scotland. In October we completed civil engineering works to enable a new pedestrian crossing in Pathhead, which will be commissioned in the near future. We’re now returning to resurface the carriageway around it.
“We’re grateful to road users and the local community for their patience and understanding.”
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
