RESURFACING ON THE A835 BETWEEN LOCH GLASCARNOCH AND LOCH DROMA

Updated 4 March 2024: Due to poor weather, resurfacing on the A835 will not go ahead on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 March. To fit in with other programmed projects, there will be no works on Friday 7 March. Please see new dates below.

  • A programme of daytime resurfacing works between Loch Glascarnoch and Loch Droma starts on Monday 3 March

 

On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out essential works at three locations on the A835 between Loch Glascarnoch and Loch Droma.

 

This resurfacing project starts on Monday 3 March with work taking place between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. Works are expected to be completed by Thursday 27 March.

To ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public, which is of paramount importance, a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. The A835 will be reopened outwith working hours with a 30mph speed restriction in place as traffic will be traveling over a temporary road surface. No works will take place on Saturday or Sunday.

 

Access through works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times on all sites.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
