BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 1700m of the A828 north of Appin.
The works will take place over seven nights between 7pm and 7am, from Tuesday 18 July to the morning of Tuesday 18 July with no works taking place on Fridays or Saturdays. During the day traffic management will be removed and a 30mph speed limit will be in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Due to the narrow road width in this section of the A828, it will be closed overnight in both directions between Appin and Lurignich to keep workers and road users safe. Waiting vehicles will be escorted safely through the site at amnesty periods of 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am. Emergency service vehicles will have access at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
