Overnight resurfacing works on the A985 near Blairhall are set to begin on Wednesday 6 September.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will undertake the project over four nights.
For the safety of workers and road users, the A985 between Longannet Roundabout and Cairneyhill Roundabout will be closed from 19:30 to 06:30 on the nights of 6, 7, 8 and 11 September.
During these closures, a diversion route will be in place via the A977, A907 and A994, adding an estimated 9.8 miles and 19 minutes to affected journeys.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.
“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway, however we’ve scheduled the works during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.trafficscotland.org for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
