RESURFACING THE M80 NORTHBOUND APPROACH TO JUNCTION 9
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface a section of the M80 northbound prior to the Junction 9 off-slip.
Works will take place on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 February 2023 between 19:30 and 06:00.
For the safety of workers and road users, the M80 will be closed northbound between these times.
A diversion route will be signposted between M80 Junction 8 and Junction 9 Pirnhall via the M876 and the M9, adding 10 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve drive quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M80.
“A road closure is essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
