The northbound carriageway of the M80 at Stirling Council Boundary will be closed for resurfacing on the nights of Monday 15, Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 April between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works, renewing 1.1km of surfacing to create smoother and safer journeys for motorists using this section of the motorway.
A signed diversion route will be in place between M80 Junctions 8 and 9. Northbound traffic will be diverted off the M80 at Junction 8 along the M876 and then the M9, returning to Junction 9 for onward travel. This diversion route will add approximately 11 minutes and 9.9 miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for safety that we close this section of carriageway while resurfacing take place.
“We’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption, however we appreciate that this will cause delays for some people and thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.”
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
