RESURFACING THE M9 JUNCTION 10 SOUTHBOUND

February 14, 2022

WORKS POSTPONED: These works will be rescheduled during March, as a knock-on result of other works in the programme being extended due to adverse weather.

  • Overnight carriageway closure Friday 18 February 2022

Motorists using the M9 southbound at Junction 10 Craigforth are set to benefit from an improved road surface, with resurfacing works planned for the night of Friday 18 February.

For the safety of workers and road users, the M9 southbound will be closed during these works from 19:30 until 06:00 between Junction 11 Keir Roundabout and Junction 9 Pirnhall.

A diversion route for southbound traffic will be signposted from Junction 11 Keir Roundabout, via the A9, A907, A91 and A9, before re-joining the M9 southbound at Junction 9. This diversion will add an estimated 9 minutes and 1.2 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will significantly improve safety and ride quality for motorists on this section of the M9.

“We’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption and will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible.”
