RESURFACING THE M9 NORTHBOUND ON-SLIP AT JUNCTION 9

April 11, 2025

  • Five overnight carriageway closures from Monday 28 April 2025

Transport Scotland’s operating company, BEAR Scotland, is set to resurface 0.7 kilometres of the M9 carriageway for 5 nights from Monday 28 of April.

The northbound carriageway of the M9 motorway between Junction 9 and the M9/M80 merge will be closed between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 between Monday 28 April to Friday 2 May.

A signed diversion will be in place, leading northbound traffic off the M9 at the Junction 9 off-slip via the A91 towards Millhall Roundabout. Traffic will then follow an alternative route through Cornton, via the A905, A9 and B823 before rejoining the M9 at Junction 11 (Keir Roundabout).

This diversion will add approximately 9 minutes and 0.6 miles to affected journeys.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for safety that we close these sections of carriageway while resurfacing take place.”

“We’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption, however we appreciate that this will cause delays and thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.”

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
