Motorists using the M9 southbound are set to benefit from an improved road surface at Junction 10 Craigforth, with Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland planning overnight resurfacing improvements on the night of Thursday 24 March.
For the safety of workers and road users during the works, the M9 southbound will be closed from 19:30 until 06:00 between Junction 11 Keir Roundabout and Junction 9 Pirnhall.
A diversion route for southbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 11 via the A9, A907, A91, and the A9, before re-joining the M9 southbound at Junction 9, adding an estimated 9 minutes and 1.2 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will significantly improve safety and ride quality for motorists on this section of the M9.
“Road closures are essential to ensure the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption and will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible.”
