The M9 southbound will be closed for resurfacing works between Junctions 5 and 1B from 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 March.
A signed diversion route for traffic travelling southbound on the M9 will be in place from Junction 5 Cadgers Brae Roundabout to Junction 1A Kirkliston, via Inchyra Road, the A905, the A904, the A993 through Bo’ness, and the A904. This will add approximately 14 minutes and 4.7 miles to affected journeys
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will use the closures to renew 0.6 kilometres of carriageway at the slip road exiting M9 Junction 2 Philipstoun, and to refresh road markings on other sections of the motorway.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.
“A carriageway closure is essential for safety, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.
“If you need to travel on the M9 southbound during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
