BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 1.2 kilometres of the northbound M9 between Junction 3 Burghmuir and Junction 4 Lathallan.
The work will take place between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 and 18 July.
A diversion route for northbound traffic will be signposted from M9 Junction 3 via the A904, A993, A904, A905 and Inchyra Road where traffic will re-join the M9 at Junction 5 Cadgers Brae. This diversion will add approximately 8 minutes and 1.5 miles to affected journeys, depending on desired destination.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.
“A carriageway closure is essential for the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.
“If you do need to travel during these closures, please allow some extra time for your journey.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
