Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland has announced plans to renew worn out surfacing on the northbound slip road leaving the M9 at Junction 9.
For the safety of workers and motorists during these works, the northbound off-slip at M9 Junction 9 will be closed for two nights, between 19:30 and 06:00 on Friday 9 and Monday 12 July.
The main carriageway of the M9 northbound will remain open to traffic, with a single lane closure in place.
Motorists intending to exit the M9 northbound at Junction 9 during these works should continue north to Junction 10 and return to Junction 9 via the M9 southbound. This diversion will add approximately 11 minutes and 10 miles to affected journeys.
Strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, are in place to protect teams and ensure they remain safe on site.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These essential works will renew worn out surfacing on this slip road off the M9, creating smoother and safer journeys for road users.
“Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website and allowing extra time for their journey.”
