BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface a short section of the southbound M9 prior to the Junction 9 off-slip, on the nights of Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 October.
For the safety of workers and road users, the southbound carriageway of the M9 will be closed at Junction 10 Craigforth from 19:30 until 06:00.
A diversion route will be signposted from M9 Junction 10 through Stirling to Junction 9, via the A84 Back O’Hill Road, the A9 Burghmuir Road, the A905 and the A91. This diversion will add an estimated 7 minutes and 0.6 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.
“A carriageway closure is essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
