BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 1.2 kilometres of the westbound M876 after M9 Junction 8 Kinnaird Interchange.
The work will take place between the hours of 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 November.
A diversion route for westbound traffic will be signposted via the M9 to Junction 9 Bannockburn, then the M80 southbound. Motorists wishing to reconnect with the M876 for Junction 1 and 2 will be directed to join the M876 eastbound from M80 Junction 7 Haggs. This diversion will add approximately 10-16 minutes and 9.8-15.5 miles to affected journeys, depending on the destination.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M876.
“A carriageway closure is essential for the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.
“If you do need to travel during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
