UPDATE: Due to bad weather, works on the A83 at Kilchenzie and Artilligan have been delayed. New dates below.
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, has been undertaking improvements on the A83 trunk road. Please see updated times below. These road resurfacing works are now expected to conclude by 5am on Thursday 25 April 2024, depending on weather conditions.
Due to narrow carriageway widths and to ensure the safety of both the workforce and members of the public, the road will be closed in both directions at the work locations. As there is no suitable diversion route available, amnesty periods will be provided.

Outwith working hours the road will be reopened, however, driver awareness is encouraged as road users will be travelling over a temporary surface and a 30mph speed limit will be in place. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times throughout the works.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “We acknowledge the disruptive nature the delays from these recent works have had on businesses and the local community. Our team will work hard to finish the job safely and quickly, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience.”
