A section of the M9 northbound after Junction 10 Craigforth is set to benefit from resurfacing and road marking improvements.
The works will see Transport Scotland’s operating company, BEAR Scotland, carry out resurfacing and renewal of road markings and studs on 1.2 kilometres of carriageway.
For the safety of workers and road users during these works, the M9 northbound will be closed between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 August, then between 19:30 and 06:00 on Wednesday 16, Thursday 17 and Friday 18 August.
A diversion route will be signposted, directing traffic from M9 Junction 9 Bannockburn via the A91, A907 and A9 before returning onto the M9 at Junction 11, Keir Roundabout. This diversion will add 1.8 miles and an estimated 12 minutes to affected journeys.
M80 northbound traffic will be diverted via the same route from M9 Junction 9, where the M80 merges with the M9.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained and all traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These resurfacing and road marking improvements will result in smoother and safer journeys for road users.
“We’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise the impact, however if you do need to use this route during the works our advice is to plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
“We thank road users for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
