ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE A9 BALLINLUIG NORTHBOUND SLIP ROADS
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, will be resurfacing the Ballinluig Junction northbound on and off slip roads.
The £160,000 project will start on Monday 29 May for three nights from 7pm to 6am. All works will be completed by 6am on Thursday 1 June, depending on weather.
The on and off northbound slip roads will be closed at night to protect the workforce and public, and an alternative route will be available via a signed diversion. There will also be a lane closure on the main A9 carriageway. All traffic management will be removed outside working hours.
The respective closures are scheduled as follows:
Monday night – northbound off slip road closed with signed diversion north via A9 to Pitlochry junction.
Tuesday night – northbound on slip road closed with signed diversion south via Bankfoot Junction.
Wednesday night – both slip roads closed with both diversions in place.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These surfacing works on the A9 Slip roads will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for motorists.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
