BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake essential road marking and road stud improvement works on the A9 single carriageway between the Crubenmore Duals and the Kincraig Duals.
The work will remove and replace all white lines and studs for a total of 16km of the A9 single carriageway, creating a safer journeys for motorists due to the improved road marking and road stud reflectivity.
Works will begin Monday 10 June for six weeks and are expected to be completed by 06:00 on Saturday 20 July, weather permitting – no works will take place at weekends.
During the works, the A9 single carriageway between Crubenmore and Kincraig will be subject to two-way traffic lights with a convoy between 19:00 – 06:00.
Junctions throughout the scheme will either be controlled manually or by a third traffic light signal to control traffic joining the A9 within the area being managed.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These road marking and road stud refresh projects on the A9 will help address defects and greatly improve the safety and visual impact for motorists.
Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these projects. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
