Essential road marking and road stud improvements on the A9 single carriageway between the Drumochter duals and the Crubenmore duals will begin on Monday 12 February for eight weeks. The project will involve removing and replacing the white lines and road studs for a total of 17km of the A9, creating safer journeys for motorists.
The works will take place from 7pm to 6am each night. Two way traffic lights with a convoy system will be in place on the A9 single carriageway, heading north from the dual section at Drumochter towards the dual section at Crubenmore. Junctions through the scheme will either be controlled manually by an operative or by a third traffic light signal to allow traffic to join the A9 safely. There will be no works on Saturdays or Sundays. All improvements will be completed by 6am on Saturday 30 March 2024, weather permitting.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
