Road safety enhancements are planned for the A83 at Glen Kinglas (Butter Bridge). The improvements involve installing new safety barriers and will take place overnight on Monday 6 May, from 10pm to 4am.
To enable these improvements and protect road users and workers, the A83 will be closed in both directions at the work site between 10pm and 4am. There will be amnesties where motorists will be escorted through the work site at midnight and 2am. It is recommended that drivers arrive for these amnesties in good time to ensure access. A signed diversion route will be in place via the A82, A85 and A819.
Please plan your journey in advance, especially if you are travelling between Inveraray and Tarbet and expect delays of up to 35 minutes due to the diversion route.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said, “We understand that road closures can be frustrating for motorists, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by these essential safety improvements. These new safety barriers will help to protect drivers and ensure the continued safe operation of the A83. We’ve scheduled the work overnight to minimise disruption, and we’ll be working hard to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.”
