A two-week programme of overnight lane and slip road closures is set to begin on the southbound M876 on Sunday 5 September, to allow an £80,000 package of road safety improvements to be completed.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will use the closures to upgrade 572 metres of roadside safety barrier.
For the safety of workers and road users, lane one and the hard shoulder of the southbound M876 between Junctions 2 and 1 will be closed each night from 5 to 20 September, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
The slip road onto the motorway at M876 Junction 2 will be closed during the first week of these works, with traffic diverted via the A9 Stirling Road, the A803, A883 and A8004.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These upgrades will enhance safety for motorists using the M876 at this location.
“Lane and slip road closures are essential for us to carry out the works safely, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise any disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
