Works to upgrade safety barriers at the A924 junction will begin on Monday 13 February for ten days.
Safety barrier works will start on Monday 13 February on the northbound carriageway at the A924 Pitlochry south junction. The project is part of ongoing road safety improvements carried out on the A9 by BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland.
To improve safety for road users, the existing ramp terminals (where the exit ramp intersects with the junction) will be replaced. New safety barriers with extra protection for motorcyclists will also be installed.
Works will begin on Monday 13 February and will take place over ten days, from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, with no weekend working, and will be completed by 5pm on Friday 24 February, weather dependant.
To ensure the safety of road workers and the public, the A9 northbound carriageway will be reduced to a single through lane with a temporary 30mph speed limit. The northbound offslip to the A924 will also be reduced to a single lane, to permit the barrier on the offside to be replaced.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These works to improve the vehicle safety barriers are essential for the safety of road users and are part of a package of measure being implemented on the A9.
“Our team will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and A9 road users for their patience in advance. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
