A road safety project on the A90 Gallowfauld south of Forfar is underway this week.
The project will see improvements to the central reservation safety barrier between Happas Road and Gallowfauld, ensuring the integrity and safety of the trunk road network is maintained.
The safety improvements began on Tuesday 4 May and are scheduled take place over seven days.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, a single lane closure will be in place continuously on the northbound and southbound carriageway between Monday and Friday. A 50mph speed restriction will also be in place for safety. All traffic management will be removed over the weekend to minimise disruption to road users.
Strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government Covid-19 guidance, will be in place to ensure all site personnel remain safe once the project gets underway.
Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “This project will help improve road safety on the A90 in this area and will ensure the safety barriers continue to protect motorists for years to come.
“The traffic management is essential to keep the workforce and road users safe during this project as our teams will be working in the central reserve, however we have planned for the traffic management to be removed during the weekend.
“We would like to thank motorists in advance for their patience during this project and advise them to plan ahead by checking Traffic Scotland for up to date journey information and leave some extra time to reach their destination.”
