BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is planning to undertake essential road surface investigation works on two sections of the M90 at M90/M9 Spur Junction 1A westbound onslip and the Junction 1C northbound offslip.
The M90/M9 Spur Junction 1A westbound onslip investigation works will be conducted on Sunday 22 September between the hours of 20:30 and 06:00. A full closure of the slip road will be in place.
During this period of closure, a signed diversion route will be in operation for traffic travelling westbound. Motorists should follow the M9 Junction 1A eastbound onslip, M9, M9 Junction 1 eastbound offslip, Newbridge Roundabout and the M9 Junction 1 westbound onslip before re-joining the M9 westbound. This diversion will add approximately an additional 4 minutes and 2.6miles to affected journeys.
The M90 Junction 1C Northbound offslip investigation works will be conducted on Friday 27 September between the hours of 20:30 to 06:00 and a full closure of the slip road will be in place.
During this period of closure, a signed diversion route will be in operation for traffic travelling northbound. Motorists should follow the M90 northbound, M90 Junction 2 northbound offslip, A823(M), B980 and the A985 Admiralty Road before reaching the A985 Admiralty Roundabout. This diversion will add approximately an additional 5 minutes and 2.9 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. All traffic management will be removed outside of working hours.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway during these works, however, we’ve scheduled this during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these investigation works.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.traffic.gov.scot for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
