A road surfacing and drainage project is set to take place on the A85 in Methven, with works to begin from Monday 4 July.
The project will involve teams resurfacing the A85 through Methven as well as carrying out upgrades to the existing drainage system associated with the trunk road.
The works are expected to take place over four weeks and they have been phased to limit disruption as far as possible.
To protect roadworkers and motorists, the drainage works will be undertaken using three-way temporary traffic lights between 9.30am and 4pm each day. Parking restrictions will be implemented on the A85 for the full length of Main Street in Methven during working hours. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West, said: “This programme of work for the A85 will help address any defects in the road surface as well as upgrade the existing drainage system through Methven.
“The traffic management required to complete this project is essential to keep roadworkers and road users safe. We have planned the works to take place in phases to help limit disruption as much as possible. As we are working in a built-up area, we have carefully programmed the noisiest operations such that they are completed by 11pm.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works, and we encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
